I would set the transporter for 1954, when the big piston liners ruled the sky and the airport experience wasn’t ruined by the stink of Jet A and whiny turbines.

Yup, back in the good old day’s flying was dangerous and sex was safe
A few months ago, buy GME at pennies and sell at 420 - Buy all the toys. Scud and I apparently think the same.
In terms of aviation, it's tough. As much as I'd love to have been part of the true bush flying era, I've grown accustom to my creature comforts like engines that always start and almost never fail, climb performance unheard of in previous generations, safety standards that are...well... safe. If I forget all of that, I suppose like most of you, the age of the big piston pounders, when the men were men and the sheep were afraid.
