From the www.thestar.com “UPDATE (9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17): Police have yet to confirm, but this newspaper’s reporter saw what appeared to be two bodies wrapped in white fabric loaded onto the ambulance on Thursday night around 6:20 p.m. The Almaguin News delayed reporting this eye witness account in order to give police time to speak with the families involved. According to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, who deployed a team of investigators to the accident scene to gather information and assess the occurrence, the crash involved a privately registered Mooney aircraft. The Transportation Safety Board is an independent agency that investigates air, marine, pipeline, and rail transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability. (5:55 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16): Two people were on board a plane that went down approximately 500 metres from the Sundridge Air Park Thursday afternoon, Sept. 16. According to a firefighter at the scene, though undetermined, he said he believed there were casualties. At 5:55 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, an ambulance, and a fire truck were on scene and a military plane, Hercules model, continued to circle. Firefighters entered into a wooded area on ATVs approximately 500 metres from the entrance to airfield. The sounds of chainsaws could be heard from the road. Paramedics were on scene but gave no comment. Police also were not commenting.” https://northernontario.ctvnews.ca/investigation-into-plane-crash-near-sundridge-ont-1.5588862 https://www.baytoday.ca/local-news/unconfirmed-report-of-light-plane-crash-in-south-river-4341204 https://www.thestar.com/local-almaguin/news/2021/09/16/search-on-at-sundridge-air-park-witness-told-a-plane-is-missing.html Image Credit www.thestar.com
