Bar XH was a big deal around these parts for many years. Now it’s being auctioned off.

I think Super T took over the still viable parts of Bar XH/Integra, and of course the Navajo lost in that incident. I think a lot of operators in that aircraft size range have become unviable with the instability of the oil patch in Alberta. I think Bar XH still runs the FBO and fuel? But its been a little while since I stopped in Medicine Hat. Same thing happened to Courtesy Air In Lloydminster. Those poor planes have been sitting there for years now. Including a rare Beech Duke, which probably single handedly contributed to their insolvency.

😂😂

I know a guy who had a Rocket Engineering conversion done on a Duke that mounted a pair of PT-6s on the thing. He said it lived up to the Rocket name, though the range sucked.

Turbine conversions always seem to. Nobody hangs drop tanks under the wings.

There a new outfit https://turb.aero/
They’re making a small 200hp turbine engine in an effort to replace pistons bangers.

Would love to see this happen. Wonder if I could replace the rear engine with one making it a single engine and making a smooth pointy nose cowl for extra coolness factor.

120 gallon tanks should be enough to feed it at 12gph

I saw them at Airventure. Would make for a great conversation from the -470’s.

I would lose 25hp, but let’s be honest, I’m not making 225hp at takeoff round these parts. The trust O-470J is as normally aspirated as they get. Cruising at 8500’+ , it would be nice for more more umpf.

Be even cooler for it to have TWO turbines and some six blade scimitar blade props! No, wait, SEVEN blade props!
