We pulled out the entire remnants of the deice plumbing. I also pulled the interior panels and insulation from the interior today.
I need to get a subwoofer set up in the hangar and just play the 985’s at 1800RPM…
Although that may just put me to sleep.

I’m finding a little bit here and there. Which is incredibly impressive since it spent 10 years flying around the Carolina’s and Florida. It’s last home was Key West prior to moving to Wisconsin.

Hope it didn't spend too long in EYW. Everything there rusts.
I've seen chrome-plated metal, hosed down with Corrosion-X that rusted in Key West.
I remember Freddy had to change his (four) aluminum ailerons on his Pitts S-2C.
Never heard of that before. They were corroded out.

Took a deeper dive in the aft floor section and tail.
I learned that draining the oil from the Y coupling leaves about 1.5 gallons for the prop feathering.
So much learning has happened!
Steam spray cleaning the wheel wells earned me a punch through the oil reservoir… Best assumption is that water was in the oil pan, and corroded the base. I learned that draining the oil from the Y coupling leaves about 1.5 gallons for the prop feathering.

Oh well, at least I'm still an actual field grad officer in the military... That and a buck gets me a cup of coffee.

Congratulations!I was promoted to Colonel as well.
You may recall that Rob Riggle - a pilot, light bird USMCR - said that he took
on the promotional role of Colonel Sanders for KFC, because it was the only
way he was ever going to get to be a Colonel.

Pretty stirring words, IMHO.

Long story, but here it goes…. I have always been a dual citizen (US/Canada). Started driving across Canada on 9/10/01 looking for a job. Ended up lurking in Thompson working at Radio Shack until I could get the privilege to wash airplanes. Finally got that, owner was embezzling money, company shutdown. Off to the next job…spent a year and half in SK sweeping dust on the ramp, enjoying my time freezing my ass off in Stoney Rapids, getting nowhere. Pissed off the owner and was asked to leave, found a job right away in YPA slinging gear on a Navajo, knowing full well it was a potential temporary summer job. Furloughed in September the same year (‘04). Worked a few months in the oil patch pondering life choices, said fuck it. Joined the US Marine Corps. Ate a bunch of crayons and licked windows for several years until getting off of active duty. Spent time in California and Alaska flying/building time, eventually found a freight job flying a Beech 99 in Wisconsin in 2011. Joined the Army National Guard flying the UH60 Blackhawk. Cost of living is pretty decent, weather is reasonable 10 months of the year for a former Canadian, bought a few toys to have fun with. Too much of logistical nightmare to move when I get all spun up in April when there are occasional snow flurries and I threaten to move to Florida. Plus I’m afraid to fly GA in Florida, too many student pilots.
