You want to be a pilot?  Get your PPL/night/CPL at a large,
reputable flight school, in hopefully a year.  I might personally
recommend Harv's in MB, or some other place like that.  They
know what they are doing, and they are of good moral character.

Then go to Cornwall, and get your multi and multi-IFR.  Again,
they know what they are doing, and again, the place is run by good
people.

Then you can choose where to go from there.  Instructor rating?  Ok.
Work the ramp, right seat wonder at 250TT?  Ok.  Doesn't matter which
one.  Both will get you the same place.

Don't go to a puppy mill.  Don't waste your time.  Get flying NOW.

You're fresh out of high school, with no diploma or degree to keep the
fat HR lady happy?  No problem.  Do a remote degree AFTER, in
whatever subject interests you.  Ancient history?  Fill your boots.  Film
studies?  Hey, it was good enough for Jim Morrison and look at all the
pussy he got.  All you need is something to check the box.

Thanks.  IMHO, if you want to be a pilot, buy a logbook, and fill it up
as fast as you can, and buy a second logbook.  Then, fill it up and buy
a third logbook.

By that point, you won't want (or take) advice from me or anyone
else about aviation (or anything else) and that's cool.  You'll be a
grownup then.

Go fly.  Stay alive.  All else is rubbish.  The guy that flies the most is the
best pilot.  His name is Rob Holland, in case you were wondering.
