I had a look at China when i was looking for work in 2013. Talked to someone that had worked in China.

The reality is very different.

These contracts are what I call "Bait and Switch" - they try and lure you in then when it comes time to sign you are presented with a contract on lower terms.

A contract that promises $X or $Y is meaningless without a detailed breakdown of how this amount is calculated. Example:- The contract figure may be calculated using maximum overtime (which you will never get) and "safety bonuses" which they have no intention of ever paying.

They know you've already resigned from your previous job and that there is no going back.

In addition you may be grounded for 3 months/year due to medical issues - this happened to the person I spoke to. There is nothing you can do. Don't expect to get paid very much while this is being sorted out.

The very minimum I expect from any potential employer is that the contact is honoured. China is a "No go" for me.

I don't know anyone that makes the kind of money advertised.

Anyone thinking about doing this - do your homework.

If I wanted to go eat snakes and rodents, with people I don't undersand, I would hang around with Cooter. That guy will eat anything. Well, gotta go, I'm on patrol and I need to go check up on Enos. I told him to keep an eye on them Duke boys but I suspect he's looking at their cousin Daisy.
