I'm getting old, I remember when a gig like that would have been 5000TT.

guys I knew who where loading my plane 2 or 3 years ago are going skipper at Jazz some scrambling to get their ATPL signed off so they can...... Maybe that pilot shortage is coming.

The "Pilot Shortage" has been coming for over 30 years.  ;D ;D

Still not seeing it in my T & C's.

I'm seeing pilots with as low as 200 hours with a bare multi and IFR getting jobs on turbines.


When I'm talking to instructors in the USA, I'm hearing that they are always "short of instructors"
but without exception, none of them are willing to raise a little finger to get a work visa for
foreign instructors.


Has any Canadian been successful in getting a visa to instruct in the US?

If there were opportunities like that back when I learned to fly I would probably be flying for a living now.

I remember when you needed 20,000 TT and three moon
landings to fly the fire-breathing 'ho.  Ok, I exaggerate
slightly, but you get the idea.  You had to be a real
hairy-chested hero to be able to hold two throttles
in your right hand, back in the day.

Too funny how times have changed, and mere mortals
are now capable of flying a piston twin  ::)

Tucker tried to hire my kid but he was busy with

I had only one moon landing at the time so I only got to fly an Islander
