Sadly this came across my Facebook feed just now (on the RCAF page):

[quote]4 Wing Cold Lake CF-188 Hornet Crash
Shortly after 11 a.m. Mountain Standard Time, a single-seat CF-188 Hornet from 4 Wing Cold Lake crashed inside the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range in Saskatchewan, not far from the Primrose Lake Evaluation Range. Tragically, the pilot did not survive.
The name of the pilot will not be released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of our fallen member. A flight safety investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the incident.

Very Sad indeed, I heard he had ejected but even that didn't save him. Condolences to all and the good people up at 4 wing.
