Chuck:

You should have been in Atlantic Canada when I was there as a TC Inspector; I guarantee you'd never have had to use that expression with me.  Believe it or not, in the period '84-'90, my group were there to assist the public.  (When I say "My group", I mean the section to which I was attached)

However, having said that, I'm now living in the Okanagan and I don't believe that level of service is available at present.  Not when you have to make an appointment to make an appointment...

I am not sure when it really went off the tracks but it really went over the cliff when Merlin Preuss became DGCA and Dave Nowzek  became Regional Director here on the west coast.

There was a time when TC inspectors and their bosses were fair to work with and we in the industry worked with them in harmony.

I don't know who is in charge now or if things have improved since the days of Preuss and Nowzek, I don't renew my medical nor do I see any reason to do so in the future.

One thing for sure during my life time the only people who really cost me big time by denying me rule of law were those two coc.......s.

From my experience in business in Canadian aviation I have learned that I am in far more danger if being approached by TC than I would be from a common street criminal.

I'd just like my iphone and laptop back.

It's been almost 7 months now.  I think
even a government employee could manage
to copy a hard disk, given half a year.

Maybe Arlo wanted them to take home.

PS  Some years back, I got a phone call
out of the blue from a TC Enforcement
Inspector in Atlantic Region - Peggy something?
who said that if I ever flew there, she
would figure out something to charge
me with.

Yes, ma'am!

I have never been to Atlantic Region
since, and never will.  TC makes a threat
like that, I have no cause to disbelieve
them.

Where in the Aeronautics Act is TC
empowered to restrict the freedom of
movement of citizens in Canada?
