Hi everyone as you may have notices I am tweaking (not twerking) the website and forum. The main landing website page is under a new template and it may change again as I will continue to play with different setups and configurations.

I have ditched the news postings for now, this is just to make the site obvious to new comers so people know whats going on from the moment they land on Scudrunners.com

I am currently playing with a classified ads website design and hope to have that up and running soon, this service will be free so private pilots/brokers/companies can list their aircraft for sale for free on our website. Also its a bit of pilot porn, pilots love to look at shiny airplanes. As this site grows and we get more members it will provide excellent exposure for owners looking to sell their aircraft and provide users who are looking to purchase a plane a resource to help them out.

Keeping with that theme we now have a separate board for Job Postings, this enhances our websites core value to pilots by providing you with news of employment opportunities. I have sent out emails to as many HR departments as I could find so hopefully we shall see some appear on there shortly.

There is also a Non Aviation board, I went back and forth on this one. I believe keeping things separate will enhance your enjoyment of this site. Pilots like to have a good debate about various topics other than aviation, so if you want to post and talk about politics sports or whatever please feel free to post there. Some may question this as we all know Avcanada use to have a great board on that site but the PC police took it down.  I looked at other sites like the very reputable Airliners.net they have a section for non aviation and there is always healthy debate going on in there so why can't we have it here.

Couple more things I am cooking up and will make some announcement soon.

Let me know what you think?

Scrapping that forum was a really dumb move by Avcanada. A lot of terrific posters disappeared. But over there, the crybabies rule.

It seems like the goal over there is to have a forum where everyone always agrees about everything and people spend their time patting each other on the back and saying "good job".

Screw that. Controversy is what makes a forum thrive. Debate between intelligent adversaries is what keeps you coming back each day to see what's been posted. If you don't have some conflict in a forum, it dies.

Avcanada has done its damndest to eradicate all conflict and controversy, and the result is a forum that's becoming more boring by the day, and is dying a slow death. It's a crying shame.

Every decent site has an off topic/misc forum.

Most of them have a disclaimer something like this: "WARNING: All ye who enter here, know that your feelings may be hurt!"

The message is that people who just can't bear any kind of disagreement should probably avoid the place.

Creating this Off Topic board is a good move, and you will be glad you did it. My only suggestion is that you should name it something to give it an identity. You know, the way PP has "Jet Blast".
