I'm still not convinced that Wasaya [i]isn't[/i] a Ponzi scheme. If I'm right, they should be looking to bring in new owners and what better places to look than those without sufficient runway length for cargo planes? To that end, they should be looking to lakes for runways, and to these things:

The biggest problems a machine like that would face in that environment would be the need to limit weight in the summer heat, and getting around in the soft conditions that often occur in the spring when the frost comes out or after excessive rain. Winter ops are generally no problem as the strips are (for the most part) well maintained and frozen rock solid.

The logistics of operating a "big" ticket aircraft in an area which is 35 years behind the times is the biggest obstacle. Utilization is the key and they don't have that and you need 2 to operate 1. NWO is all short haul, average 30 minute legs for this type and the mindset of the area is still the shorter the leg the better. Most big aircraft have a sweet spot(30 min flights ain't it) and with a type like this you should operate out of a major centre like YQT or YWG and not YPL or YRL. Ground support and warehousing is non-existent, there are still northern store managers who want nothing bigger than a 3000lb load.
It would nice to see aviation advance here but even the ATR 42/72 operations for the most part are primitive and inefficient with an aeroplane that is a fraction of the cost. Old is better still rules the remote areas of Canada. Government refusal to improve their airport [font=helvetica neue][size=13px]Infrastructure[/size][/font][font=helvetica neue][/size][size=13px] and the reserves which don't seem to care in improving how they receive freight. Damn, living in the past is a wonderful thing. [/size][/font]
