Actually he can log it.  He has a licence, and you
have a CPL and 50 hrs multi so he can legally log
it as multi-engine dual.  Type famil.

Who turns down free multi-engine dual time?!  On
an unfamiliar type with all the doo-dads?!

I do not need to exercise the privileges of my flight
instructor rating to give C421 checkouts.

When you really need a flight instructor rating is
when you are giving dual to people who DO NOT
have a pilot's licence.

If your biggest fan really has even a bare PPL, I
don't see what the problem is.

I think the horse left that barnyard a looong

Or are ya, CHICKEN? Buk buk buk!

I sent a PM to Strega a few days ago and offered a truce and sharing of identities, but he hasn't gotten back to me. His offer is interesting, but it's not all that practical for me to get out to his airport in the next 2 weeks. It would be great to get time in a C340 and/or Pitts though. It's sometimes hard to tell if Strega is trolling or not.

Well, I asked Strega some questions and was going to take him up on his offer (but perhaps not by the end of the month). However he just replied "You claim to the the 'super pilot  when all in fact you really have done is own a piece of shit, beater 172", so I assume the offer was just a troll in the first place.

I would like you all to get along, I get it though we won't all agree all the time and debate is healthy. I am sure you have a lot of common ground and hope you all get together and have a laugh and beer or two over this stuff.

back to the 340, I have never flown one but I thought that would be a good machine for hopping across the rocks with the family (pick my days no hard IFR and shit) So I bring this up because many have told me the C340 isn't the best in Icing as well as the fuel system is a bit of cluster fuck.
That being said I use to fly Lear 35s and the blinking lights in certain sequences indicating valves opening and closing correctly still haunt me. why do they make these things complicated im just a pielot.

The C340 can be equipped for legal icing, and
have the TCM TSIO-520 engines, which at
310hp don't make quite the same power as the
375hp TCM GTSIO-520 engines in the 421 - they
spin up faster - amazingly fast, actually - 3400 RPM!!.

Main problem with the 340 (the stock versions)
is that if you put gas and 2 pilots in them, you
are over max gross.  Very different from the 421.

Most people do mods to the 340 (Vg's, RAM, etc)
which up the max gross and make it more usable.

PS  You didn't hear it from me, but the 340 flies
marvellously, well over max gross.
