I hear ya' brother!  I have a nice flight bag that I want to carry/fasten on to my seat back to organize charts and stuff, but until my diet gets a little further along I can't steal e weight allowance from the pax... :(

How about a circumnavigation of New Zealand?  The views would be bloody gorgeous.  Of course one would have to make a stop at Wanaka for the Warbirds airshow.

To add some additional adventure, load up some long range tanks, hop over to Hobart, scootching around Tasmania for a while, then jump over to Melbourne and run 'round the Aus coast as well, with the run into Ayers Rock at some point.

A Garrett Otter on amphibs decked out like a camper in the back. Summertime from Copenhagen up through Norway and then south to Helsinki. Fishing gear and single malt compulsory, everything else optional.

Circumnavigating the world in a nice twin over the period of a year.. That would be nice!

So.. Where do I sign up to learn to fly a twin?  O0

Learn the difference between control and
power, with one engine out.  They are at
odds with each other.

As usual, get the POH/AFM from Essco and
carefully read the bits about the brutally
important systems:  fuel and gear.

There are two different kinds of little
piston twins:

1) those with 4 cyl engines: Apache,
Duchess, Seminole, Twin Comanche.
Four seats.  You know, training bras. 
Really not good for anything except
FTU multi training.

2) those with 6 cyl engines:  Aztec,
C300/400, B55/58.  Often 6 seats. 
Much faster, carry more load.  Enough
airplane to get you into a shitload of
trouble in icing and CB's.

4 cyl twins can barely maintain flight
on one engine.  6 cyl twins, if you are
at less than max gross, can fly on one
engine, if the density altitude isn't too
high.

Funny, for some reason around the world in a light twin doesn't appeal to me....  but in a sailboat, now.... hmmmm

I think I agree with Fendermandan about the Canada coast to coast part, though

I've heard about the paperwork hell.. But having been born and raised in India, but never having flown an airplane in India, I want to return in an airplane just so I could see how it looks like, flying from about 1000 AGL... Going to places I have previously traveled by road and rail... It is definitely on my bucket list. And for whatever darned reason, I want to be able to do it in a C- registered airplane. I might have to do it in a diesel/turbine because AvGas is hard to come by in a country where General Aviation does not exist!
