But what did they conclude?
Discounting faking their own deaths or being captured by the Japanese (because both theories are nuts) the odds say that Electra is awfully small in a big ocean. Having said that, there’s a website about an airplane being found on New Britain in WWII that claims to have had engine serial numbers matching Earhart’s airplane. While getting them there seems to take an awful stretch of the imagination the guy behind the site at least passes my own general scam test.
