I want to be an FO

I get asked this a lot by appricants. "Do you have FO positions?" I admit to a certain amount of disappointment. I get that they think that its what they should shoot for as entry level, but it seems so self limiting? Shoot for the stars guys. Aim to be a pilot. Show me you want to be in charge of the game, not just along for the ride.
The details of my life are quite inconsequential...

Maybe? I find maybe its my curse that i prefer to rule my own hell, than to serve in someone else's heaven.

I know there's something really wrong with me, but I like being the only one in the airplane.
I want to sit in the center, with a bubble canopy for good visibility so I can see and not have a mid-air like everyone else, every day. Good visibility behind.
I want a stick in my right hand, and a throttle in my left.
I know there's something really wrong with me. Pilots, like teenage girls going to the bathroom together, are pack animals. They even dress the same, have the same haircuts, and buy their shirts and sunglasses at the same stores.
I know I'm not a Good Canadian™. I'm probably not a Good Pilot™ either. I just fly the fucking things.
Four people in one airplane sucks. Have four airplanes, with one person in each one.
Not a photo shop:
As usual, number four is out of position.

I took Mikey from Ice Pilots flying in the Pitts with us.
He said it was the scariest thing he had ever done in an airplane. Given his background, that compliment means a lot to me.
Mikey liked +5G in the L39. I think.

Me too, but it doesn’t pay the way I want it to.

That's a good point.it doesn’t pay the way I want it to
But many decades ago, I discovered that I enjoyed life a lot more if aviation was something I spent money on, rather than trying to get money out of.
There are far easier ways to earn much more money, than working in aviation.

I love that photo. I am sure that Tower C thinks they are all deplorable homophobic misogynist Nazis that
WILL NOT BE FUCKING TOLERATED IN CANADA and there is NO SPACE FOR THEM.
Ok. I call them, my family and friends.
Oh well. Curtis liked how we fly, even if Canadians don't.

Fair point, I do both and flying for money is what my skill set is. It also keeps my interest which makes learning new stuff easier.Colonel wrote: Sat Sep 03, 2022 1:20 amThat's a good point.it doesn’t pay the way I want it to

I get what you’re saying but between a candidate with humility and one who has ambition and no idea how to get there I’ll take the former.
