You could show up with a handheld radio and an iPad with Foreflight loaded up and head west on the adventure of a lifetime. Once past Ontario’s rocks and trees dip it down to 500agl to stay out of the headwinds and cruise on home. Stop in YQT of course, I’ll make tacos or something.

The Christavia I is more or less the answer to “can I make a Champ in my garage?” IIRC they were originally designed for remote missionary work so they must be rugged. It looks roomy and with the fuselage’s structural tubes pushed all the way out to the corners it’s going to be as strong as it can be for the weight. This is what they did with the Carbon Cub to make it objectively better than a PA-18 and I’ve kind of harboured this theory that a Christavia could become a poor man’s Carbon Cub for a tiny fraction of the price. Just picture it with big, fat tires and a 150-ish horsepower engine bought from a southern US salvager after a hangar collapse in hurricane season...

I don’t know a whole lot about the CH-200s but people I respect have built and owned them, and in some cases kept them for decades. To me that speaks volumes.

Me having learned to fly initially in a champ then a cub, I have often wondered if I had a chance to jump into (like on the vid) an aircraft with a stick would I fly it from the right side since stick with me means left hand on the stick and right hand on the throttle. Just wondering

I've seen a couple of these Christavia lately and I have to say I'm a little intrigued. I'm a pretty big fan of Kitfox and these seem like a bit of a cheaper version. I honestly don't know much about them though.

There’s a green Citabria in Alberta, maybe even Calgary for sale right now at $55k. Assuming that’s Canadian dollars it’s probably cheaper than getting either of those Champs home.
