That’s looks fantastic but I do sort of worry if it’s been as, um, ‘reliable’ as many other Rotec radial engines.

Are you mixing up Rotec with Rotax?

The Rotec engines seem to really be built well.

From what I’ve heard the Rotec radials struggle to keep oil on the inside at best and gearbox failures aren’t uncommon.

A radial engine leaking oil? Maybe.

I don't get out much, I had not heard about gearbox issues. That's unfourtunate the guy who built them is pleasant.
