Wong Bros -- I knew them well I did my instrument rating there in '63 - I can remember when they got a transponder in the 182, it actually had a lock on it (transponder) and you needed to get the key if you wanted to use it -- haha -- and the link trainer in the so called terminal -- got I hated those things.

Yeh, the Wong brothers treated me real good as they let me work off a lot of my training cost.
Training was quite expensive back then, ten dollars an hour dual and eight dollars an hour solo.
Hookers on Jarvis street charged ten dollars for a quick fuck just to give a comparison on cost.

Amen, those things were real abortions.and the link trainer in the so called terminal -- got I hated those things.
But two stage amber was an excellent instrument flying training method.
