how can it be? how can it fly without regulatory oversight? exam process? maybe it will be like the old days, they watch you fly around a bit then give you a lic, without going with you?

A friend of mine, 90 now, did his PPL just after WWII and the examiner sat
on the ground and watched him fly solo.

This is not as ridiculous as it sounds. When you get your airshow card, it
must be solo. ICAS ACE must be on the ground, watching. They cannot be
in the airplane on the evaluation flight.
