My dad has a Piper Arrow II and he’s installing two Garmin G5’s in it. it’s already got a 430W and a King Nav/Com. With ILS head AP etc.
The question is, his Electric Turn Coordinator is needing overhaul.
With the installation of the two G5 which can operate independently. So his “HSI”G5 can revert to displaying Attitude and att can display hsi info if one packs it in.
So does he even need to have the old turn coordinator to operate legally IFR?

I don’t remember Canadian regulations, but that is almost the exact setup I have my 180. Th turn coordinator is somewhere in the deep recess of my hangar.
