I know taildraggers are nearly lost to history, but some people think
that the skills that you develop on them are useful.

This note I'm particularly proud of. Sure, it nice to stop people from
groundlooping taildraggers - if you like taildraggers - but a groundloop
is rarely fatal.
However, an EFATO in a twin almost always is fatal. See 11 dead in
Hawaii, with yet another Vmc demo. But not the guy I trained.
See, this is why TC says I am not eligible to hold an instructor rating.
You don't want people teaching stuff that stops airplanes from being
wrecked, and stop people dying. TC won't allow that.

Same with me, there is no way I could ever get my instructor rating renewed, there are two reasons for this.
1... T.C. didn't like me suing them for unlawful actions against me and winning a judgement for $250,000 .

I am increasingly concerned with the direction our flight test standards are taking. The requirements are being diluted due to the fact that the experience in the current cadre of instructors is shockingly low.

The problem isn't the experience level. It's the level of [u]knowledge and skill[/u].
With good, intense instruction - with solid and focused pre- and post-flight
debriefs - pilots can become very skilled, very quickly, given reasonable aptitude
and decent motivation, of course.
Frankly, the PPL's I trained, at 100TT had more stick & rudder skill, for example,
than 1000 hr CPL's. That's a fact.
I was taught by a fanged and incredibly demanding instructor. I was probably
more demanding, again. I sent student pilots solo in the L39, for crissakes. How
many instructors in Canada did that?
But, compared to virtuous Canadians, I am a shitty pilot and instructor, because
I have no virtue to signal.
My family has only been flying for 102 years. What would we know about aviation,
compared to @sshole Arlo and Rotten Ronnie, the Canadian Kings of Aviation?

It's not limited to Instruction - it's happening in the Airline World.
All recent accidents involving large jets feature an inability of the crew to fly the aircraft - in some cases aircraft have been crashed that had zero technical problems.
I'm seeing it at my company too.
The only positive side to side to this is that people who know what they're doing and have a proven record are becoming increasingly valuable.
