South Pole? They might be crazy. What if they fly off the end of the earth?

In a twin? With 5000 NM range and burning jet fuel? Now that's easy  ::) ;)

Seriously though, nice adventure.

Well we called the spring in Resolute "the silly season" all sorts would show up with "unique" ways to get to the pole. A turbo Commander -- mmmmm -- the biggest challenge there is not getting shot in South America. Some one has deep pockets -- Wonder what type off equipment in the radio rack, laser gyros ??? -

tongue in cheek of course with my "crazy" comment.

I think its funny when people think just because the plane is old it must be a dangerous.

few months back I was climbing aboard an Encore Q400, a lady sits down beside me and say "omg how old is this plane?"  ::)

I told her probably less than 2 years she was shocked don't think she believed me.  I guess the proletariat associate props with old tech.

We should switch the joke to, "It might be too new for Antartica. Most of the planes that allegedly fly there are DC-3s and Twin Otters."
