It's a very Canadian thing, to have a champagne
taste, on a beer budget.

I knew it was time to quit instructing when a guy
with a Mooney bitched and whined about paying
$50 for very specialized flight training.  That's
such a tiny fraction of what the market thinks
my time is worth, and he just wouldn't shut up
about his fifty fucking dollars.

Jesus, I took an Uber into San Francisco last
night after work, was over USD$200 one direction.
Dinner at Scoma's was another USD$250, then back
home.

And this twat with a Mooney in Ottawa had his panties
in a bunch about CDN$50.  Fuck flight instructing.

And guys think I'm joking when I tell them $500/hr to teach them fixed wing.

My time is worth something, and that's about it; for the moment.

Well, I much prefer it to those twits that phone you, "It's the **** foundation. Got any extra clothes?" "We're cleaning furnaces in your area." Etc.

I've had doctors ask about investing while treating me.  I've had flight instructors do that, While During a Lesson.

Seriously, fuck off.  I'm not a low life sheeple advisor. I don't have, or want, mom and pop clients.

I run a very successful prop firm, which none of you know what that means. I often teach principles for free, but people don't want that.  They want it all handed to them, Aka gofundme.

I laugh at all these internet investment sites. You seriously think any professional is going to tell you anything for 49.95?

Rates, if I was to charge?  You couldn't afford it.

As a rule of thumb, something is worth what people are
willing to pay for it.  This is true of any good or service.

Now, someone can ask a silly price - I'm sure you've seen
houses listed for a ridiculously high price - and it will not
sell.

The other thing to remember - comparative advantage -
is that Albert Einstein, pushing a broom, does not create
as much value as when he is driving a piece of chalk on
a board working physics equations.

This is why I don't flight instruct any more.  I couldn't
give a 90% discount on my time - people complained I
still charged too much.  Well then, that's your answer.

Correct. Now if someone threw me $1000 per hour for me to mentor them -- something I try to do for friends, for free -- I might think about it.

I don't need money though, don't need clients.  Never had, nor wanted them.  So I'd just as not deal with the hassle.

But when a cockroach asks me to teach them the trading business in 5 minutes, then turns around and argues they know more than me, can imagine my response.

Like, just STFU.

I'm actually not doing that great these days, compared to the sheeple at least. When the credit cycle turns, as it will, I will kill them again. Blood will be in the water and sharks will feast.  Nothing ever changes. But for now the ducks are quacking loud, getting fed.

None of you have a clue what that means. Just keep waving those ATPL's like that makes one an expert on everything.

Suckers.

An ATPL doesn't even make you an "expert" on aviation -
it just gets your foot in the door.  It's only 1500TT and a
fresh MIFR with a hold and two approaches on auto-pilot.

And I think it's safe to say that people in aviation don't
know much about business.  If they did, they would be
in another line of work where it's much easier to earn
money  :))

"An ATPL doesn't make one an expert on business".

You obviously don't read the other blog.

And BTW neither does an MBA. Toilet paper I'd wipe my ass with.

One wants to learn my business:  Free Advice! Become an expert on poker, blackjack, risk, bridge, backgammon....then get back to me.

Betcha your arrogant financial advisor -- never met a more patronizing group of losers parading their "credentials" around in my life -- wouldn't teach you that. Toilet paper.  No industry is possibly more corrupt.

You're fucking salesmen. Leeches sucking fees. Nothing more. Own it.

An MBA just means that after any under-graduate
degree, you took a few courses in economics, accounting
and finance.  Again, it just gets your foot in the door.

Mind you, I firmly believe that one pitiful course in basic
economics ought to be required for an ATPL.  Remember,
it's a commercial air service you're working for.
