Hey, the guy had a Christen Eagle and
played a pretty mean 12-string.
NTSB showed that the leading cause of the [Long-EZ] accident was Denver's inability to switch fuel tanks during flight
the builder instead had placed the fuel selector behind the pilot's left shoulder, with the fuel gauge also behind the pilot's seat and not visible to the person at the controls
the accident was not influenced by alcohol use, as an autopsy found no sign of alcohol or other drugs in Denver's body
Be careful in those homebuilts, ok?
I had to check the date - I can't fucking believe
that's 20 years ago, already. Fuck, I'm old.

Time keeps ticking away enjoy life while you can.
Never flown a long EZ, always thought they would be a fun toy. Where is the fuel tanks switch usually placed on them ?
Can't imagine Burt Rutan would design it like that.

Don't tell the girlfriend...
I'm looking at buying a long-ez kit. I love the idea of the long range and speed, while it sips gas. Also, down here I can get an A&P* (AME for you folks)...
*not really, but mostly sort of.
