You're probably reading this drivel, thinking WTF
does this have to do with me flying an airplane?

Well, in the cockpit you find hamburger and you
find steak.  You choose to be hamburger, don't
be surprised if you're ground meat some day.

And then we come to those folks who will try to break the record for low-flying.
Here's a hint for them: the record cannot be broken, it can only be tied.

We say that, but ...

It's possible with a high speed impact to actually get
substantially below ground.  I would not be surprised
at 10 or 20 or even 30 feet, given sufficient speed.

That has to count more than a splash.

Listen, I get continually get shit on for re-posting.  I
have posted that many times.  Learn to use a
"search engine".  You will find that useful for finding
out other stuff in the future, too.

No problem with re-posting. I am curious what TC would want someone to do that is so dangerous.

I am perfectly willing to believe what you say about them and if they are telling you to do something dangerous(or two things) that is definitely worth re-posting.

Perhaps aerobatic related stuff when the inspector doesn't know what they are talking about?

Yes.

To this day, I honestly don't know if they were merely
stupid or outright homicidal.  It would have been awfully
convenient for them, for me to finally have an accident,
and justify some pretty bizarre behavior of theirs over a
lot of years.  They used to send a TC Inspector out to my
little airport.  He would hide behind the row of hangars
with a camera, peeking around the corner and trying to
take incriminating photos.  My friends would stop by and
tell me he was there, and we would go home.

Interesting the lengths they will go to. What did they suggest that would be homicidal/stupid?

I didn't know you were writing my biography, but ...

Try 800 knots head-on closure sometime, out of visual.

Never again.  Most dangerous thing I've ever done in
an airplane.  Should have told the Inspector to shove
it and gone home.  I got lucky, and survived.  I am
guessing they were rather hoping I wouldn't.

Nasty people.

Sounds like a jet, What type and what did the inspector specifically request.

A biography would be interesting.
