It's possible with a high speed impact to actually get
substantially below ground.  I would not be surprised
at 10 or 20 or even 30 feet, given sufficient speed.

I am perfectly willing to believe what you say about them and if they are telling you to do something dangerous(or two things) that is definitely worth re-posting.

Perhaps aerobatic related stuff when the inspector doesn't know what they are talking about?

Yes.

To this day, I honestly don't know if they were merely
stupid or outright homicidal.  It would have been awfully
convenient for them, for me to finally have an accident,
and justify some pretty bizarre behavior of theirs over a
lot of years.  They used to send a TC Inspector out to my
little airport.  He would hide behind the row of hangars
with a camera, peeking around the corner and trying to
take incriminating photos.  My friends would stop by and
tell me he was there, and we would go home.

Never again.  Most dangerous thing I've ever done in
an airplane.  Should have told the Inspector to shove
it and gone home.  I got lucky, and survived.  I am
guessing they were rather hoping I wouldn't.
