The only sillier method of cross-country transportation
is a unicycle.

God, I hate flying cross country.  Thousands of hours
spent sitting on a parachute instead of a barstool.

Getting old.  And sunburnt.

I'm assuming  N wind at YND 
Was the  cross wind too strong to land on the pavement[size=2] [/size]

Really just a question of being prudent on a first flight. Probably would have worked ok on pavement but why not use the grass when you have it to get familiar and work up to the pavement cross wind later.

I would have brought it across for you if you asked.  Just, you know, maybe bump up that insurance before I hop on board.

Interesting video!  My first flight in a DH60M Gypsy Moth was after a full re-build and shortly after t/o I lost the airspeed indicator.  Played with pitch and the slats on the upper wing to establish a climb attitude and the same when setting up the approach..then the engine quit at idle.  The slats helped with the approach attitudue and with no brakes and only rge tail-skid the roll-out was interesting.


Not a scratch on the old girl.

Had a tailwind westbound all through
the Rocky Mountains.  Weird.

Density altitude at Flagstaff was
bumping 10,000.  Lean the mixture
and be glad you have a 540!

Back in California in LA.  One little
300 nm hop tomorrow am to our
new home airport outside SFO.

Front seat ferry tanks are a paperwork
pain in the ass but they completely
transform it.
