Glad everyone is ok and hope they are back in the air soon. And thank you for serving our country.

Barring any injuries that preclude it, they'll be back in the Wild Blue as soon as the accident investigation is complete.
I should maybe dig out the little story I wrote about how I have an unequal number of departures/landings...
And yes: Bravo Zulu to them!

Reminds me. There was an unofficial status - "Ace both ways".
That is, someone who had shot down 5 enemy aircraft
but had used up 5 of his own side's aircraft in the process!
I used to fly airshows with a German glider pilot, I
think he was one of those. Oscar something?
-- edit -- found him --
Oscar Boesch was shot down eight times: had four bail outs, and four crash-landings.
He lost eight Fw-190s.
In his career, he reached a score of 18 victories
He was both an Allied and a German Ace. A nice old guy. I liked him.
