Hairdo Dolly Buys Super Hornets

Before the election, he said, "No F-35's".
After the election, his government buys SH's.
Naturally, this sequence of events has the
princesses on the other site, with their
panties all in a bunch, running around crying
with their arms waving in the air.
You elected him, princesses. Why are you
outraged that he did what he said he was
going to do?

Forgive me for being skeptical. I found an Aronca Champ and it's really nice in pictures but.. Nobody thinks I'm actually going to buy it. Maybe it will happen maybe Prime Minister Ambrose will cancel them. Who knows?
Other than the cost I like the idea of buying some Super Hornets, mostly because it might be nice to have some newer airframes.
Any chance they would be partially built here like the CF-18s?

Probably not built here they got the production line going down there. However I am quiet certain there are some components on them with the made in Canada stamp on them.
Honestly I think we should scrap the F35 buy 40 Super Hornets steal some A-10 and grab 20 F22 Raptors while we are at it for good measure. Oh and if they could throw in some Huey Cobras that would be swell.
Diemert?

I am in partial agreement with Bob D. Canada should build A-10 variants.
Sure glass panels and other electronic things are sort of nice but.. Something simple and heavily armored with a few missiles and a nice big gatling gun would be pretty handy to protect our borders if Somali pirates try to drop in, in my opinion. Maybe 1000 of them, base them all around the North, East and West edges of the country.
Supplement them with modernized anti aircraft missile type things and some Super Hornets / Growlers, to chase away any smart alecks flying too high to be eliminated by our main coast guard planes.

Surely you jest. The RCAF doesn't give a shit about CAS. They especially don't care about army aviation (see the Griffon).

Patrol the north with drones. Except the bad guys could probably shoot down a drone without causing to big a fuss in the UN because there's no loss of human life soooo... maybe have a basic cockpit on them with a person on board. Not controlling anything, just to make someone less likely to attack them. Give them an ipad that looks like it does stuff if you must. You could staff the things with the air force equivalent of a rampie program.
emotionslly empty drones

I'm not going to vote for that but I do see where, "riding around in a drone." could present an opportunity, to award participation medals to kids that don't really want to do anything. They could text and play color up on their phone, listening to their jam while eating twizzlers.
I like Barney's proposed aircraft with a bit more armor.

Not exactly but I am aware of how I might as well advocate for a Canadian expedition to the moon. Neither is likely at all to happen.

I think a moon shot is the more likely of the two ;)
