Simpson Air - DHC-2 Float Pilot

Simpson Air (1981) Ltd. operates year-round charter flights from Fort Simpson NT. and seasonal float plane charters and tours to Nahanni National Park, NT.
EMPLOYMENT POSITION
We are currently seeking an applicant to join our team as a DHC-2 Beaver pilot based out of Fort Simpson flying into Nahanni National Park and the Dehcho region of the Northwest Territories.
WORK HOURS
This is a seasonal position starting May 15, 2025 ending October 15, 2025 pilots are scheduled to work 5-6 days/week as operational needs require and in accordance with Transport Canada flight duty regulations. Pilots are required to arrive at the hangar 1hour in the summer and 1.5hours before scheduled flight departure time to prep plane and documents. This role requires a successful candidate to work weekends and holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Flight plan creation, including routing, altitude, fuel requirements and weather
• Proper loading and weight balancing of aircraft for each flight
• Completing daily aircraft inspections, fueling, oiling, and maintaining aircraft cleanliness
• Pre-flight aircraft checks
• Safely operating company aircraft, working within safety standards and following protocols
• Providing concise, professional and informative passenger safety briefings prior to each flight
• Escorting passengers & their luggage to their flight
• Working on the dock & ramp assisting other pilots as needed
• Maintaining a clean dock, hangar and office environment
• Nahanni Mountain Lodge inspection and clean-up
• Other duties as assigned by the management team
Ratings
• Valid Transport Canada Commercial Pilots License, Float Rating
• Current CAT 1 Medical
Experience
• Minimum 500 Hours PIC
• Minimum 200 Hours Floats
• Minimum 100 Hours DHC-2
Skills
• Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
• Ability to work individually, as well as within a team environment.
• English proficiency.
• Ability to lift 50lb
• Mountain flying experience is considered an asset
• Class 5 (or equivalent) drivers license
Preference will be given to candidates who are above the minimum experience requirements.
