It’s been drier than a popcorn fart at the movie theater around here.
I figure I’d share a pic from Guatemala I took the other day.
Off in the distance is Fuego, a sometimes active volcano.
Thanksgiving was just last week for us downstream of maple syrup land, so my wife decide we should go for a flight and grill some steaks. God Bless her! I’m not one to make a big deal of holidays cooking.
Of course she’s been kicked to back seat of the Cessna now that the kiddo has laid claim to the right seat:
It’s not Wednesday…

When do appliances break?
Only when you’re out of town to do anything about it.
Poor wife and kiddo didn’t have any hot water for 2 days until I was able to get home.
(Could have called out a plumber, but saved $900 by doing it myself)

After a very long half day of death by PowerPoint I needed a much deserved massage chair break.
Stopped by the hangar on the way home to get a not as happy ending massage chair treatment.
The chair and pizza oven really set the ambiance in the hangar.
This is totally my Facebook feed now.

To the Colonels Luddite approach to cross country planning, here is mine:
So I took the 180 from Wisconsin to Alabama.
I’m off on a military school for a few weeks. Normally, they pay for an airline ticket. But what fun is that when they will reimburse you up to the commercial travel cost anyway? So I took the 180 from Wisconsin to Alabama.

I’m a slave to FF and Apple.
I was able to flight plan and file IFR within minutes of me getting to the airport.
Wx brief for layers and airmet for icing.
Plan for cheaper fuel stop, saving $1/gallon.
The company does issue and have a subscription as a back up to Jepp FD. I did pony up and pay the add-on $$$ for Jepp charts on my personal iPad/iphone. (Using them for GA and mil flying is sooooo much better).
