The main search engine is Baidu I think. I have no idea about the VPN.

Virtually everyone in China uses a VPN, so just ask the first person you see with a smartphone. I think you need to pay for them though.

Although China is growing rapidly it will still be the elite of society that can afford even a Cessna 150. Sadly here in the P.R. of Canada its going that way as well.

Many of the middle to senior engineers in high tech companies in China are getting close to being able to afford very nice Mercedes and BMW's, in-fact the parking lots of high tech companies in China look not much different from Silicon valley except they don't seem interested in hybrids. So I think they could already afford them in impressive numbers if they were available and if they though about having a hobby(hobbies seems like a rare luxury to most folks I know in Asia). Hopefully that will change in time.

Good point I wonder if the goverment would ever allow civil aviation like we have here, somehow I doubt it.
