lets see $8 Million each so $24 million
plus $54 million ish in cool tech in the back for the boys to play with.

Golly, I would think a twin otter would be better for surveillance. I suppose that's the sort of thing that showcases my ignorance.

Honestly, I think the Dash-8 is the best ISR platform.  We work with the C-12’s (King Air’s for you civilian types). The MC-12 is loaded to the gills with sensors.
Actually, I guess it depends on what type of sensors you want. There are some bad ass planes with ridiculous radars and other “things.”  I have no doubt the operators and pilots are all sterile.

Twotter might be too slow and not being pressurized would be a limiting factor in some theaters. 

The classic Dash probably would have been a good alternative, but with only the DHC Q400 in production that might be too big of a ship for the task.
With all the back room deals the liberals hand out I am honestly surprised they didn't spring some sort of hand out to BBD such as a Maritime Patrol Aircraft contract for the C-Series or Q400.

Honestly though a Global for VIP transport and a few for special missions I would be ok with.
