This Summer I might occasionally put my CPL into the action to do some meat bombing. It will be once every couple of weeks engagement on C206 perhaps later on C208.

They pay $100 + tips, if any, for 4 hours. I can't tell how many flights is that assuming it's a busy day, which is nothing special, but don't know any better.

Tell me some pros and cons and what to watch out (crazy tourists, etc)

I work full time in the IT, so total newb.

Thank you

Always wear a chute, and be prepared
to bail at any time.

Sooner or later, one of the meat bombs
will have their chute open while they are
still in the airplane, and it will snake out
the door and blanket the tail.

When that happens, get out the door.  If
it happens below 1000 feet, you're all dead.

Meat bombs like to take the keys on the
way out, too.  They also like to hang off
the aircraft for too long a time, which will
spin you if you're not ready for it.

And then, they like you to fly in formation
with a newbie to get more chutes in the
air, and that's another great way to die.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I've had enough
of that shit to last me a lifetime.

There is also the legality issue.

Do they want you to fly it over gross weight?

If they do don't fly it.
over max gross weight?
That's kind of a given.  They will also want
you to fly broken airplanes, which have engine
failures right after takeoff:

Listen to the meat bombs hoot and holler
during the turn with the stall warning -  they
are too dumb to realize how close to death
they are.

The young man in the left seat is not only
a great stick, he has very fast reflexes and
made the right decision extremely quickly.

Very unusual in aviation, where pilots (like
Pierre-Cédric Bonin) consistently work very
hard to make everything worse.

And here's just another day for meat bombing:

If that looks like fun to you, go for it.

Always wear a chute, and be spring-loaded
to go for the door.

My old pal Freddy (he taught me to do this)
at work:

I find it incredible there is an  attitude that flying over gross is expected and so prevalent in flying jumper flights.

How can anyone with any self worth agree to such an idiotic requirement?

They're kids with 200TT and a fresh CPL
and willing to do anything for flight time.

They just don't know any better.

I won't mention any names, but there is
quite an operator in the so-called "Great
Toronto Area" that sells type ratings (?!)
on "wide-body" 182's to prospective jumper
dumper pilots.

Expect no tips, for some reason meatbombs are some of the cheapest people on the planet.

I hope they spent that money on a good chute, that is on my list things not to cheap out on.

Of course no one in TC would be aware that these operators are doing this?

What a fuckin joke the regulator is in this country.
