Women want him.

Men want to be him.

PS  I will never know as much about aviation
as a Porkchops, but this is a tumble in an S-2B:

As a host I can't stand the guy and I've never made it more than a couple minutes into one of his videos.  On the other hand, good on him for finding a way to make all sorts of flying adventures happen.

I agree with slick,  annoying but an ambassador for general aviation.

Can't argue with that, if he brings the idea to reality for a few.

I don't care for his videos personally (though I actually liked this one, going to Harv's to spend some time on their Pitts is on my short list of aviation things to do), but he's done a really good job of raising general aviation's profile among young and aspiring pilots and that means he's ok by me. I've never quite understood the animosity he receives on the various forums.

Ask any youngish person who is interested in aviation who they like to watch on Youtube, I guarantee you won't get very far before you hear "Flightchops".  General aviation is in decline and needs all the positive exposure it can get. Steve is great at capturing the human side of aviation. He's not a he-man superpilot and he's willing to admit his failings and people find that to be relatable which is why he runs one of the most subscribed aviation channels on Youtube (and probably the most subscribed among those who may actually potentially become pilots).

More little airplane aviation is good. I'm ok with anyone who promotes it and presents it in a positive light.

At the rate he's going he's probably going to overtake his critics in the next few years.

I wonder who has inspired more wannabe's to attempt flying, Mr Flight Chops or the Colonel?

Based solely on their social media/internet presence and persona.

That's what the world needs - more Cirrus pilots.

As the Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association teaches,
"Pull Early!  Pull Often!"

I only instructed continuously for 25 years.  Nowhere
near as much as you or Porkchops.

I wish I could tell you, how important my popularity
on social media is to me.

I'm like a fucking Kardashian that way - facebooking
and tweeting what I had for fucking breakfast, and
pictures of my fat cellulite ass.

The most important thing is that I never hurt anyone's
feelings, because that would make me a BAD PERSON.
