Speaking of Tigers.

One of the airplanes I always wanted to fly is the Grumman Tiger Cat.

The closest I ever got to one was at an airshow in France where they parked me right beside one in the parking area and I got to follow him out to the runway where I watched his performance.

That thing is awesome, just awesome.

Has anyone here flown one?

Getting back to the curved landing approach with a constant airspeed and angle of bank to wheel contact the PBY was really fun because with a wing span of a hundred and four feet you have to be really careful with the bank angle because one does not want to drag a wing tip as you touch down...

That was one of the fun things when using a high bank angle during the turn you had to raise the wing as you flared for the touch down.

I was fortunate enough to have never touched the ground with a wing during the hundreds of curved approaches and landings I did at airshows. :mrgreen:
