Cherokee.  For god's sake don't buy it.  Even if TC's
buddies don't have to tear the engine down, you will
have to - see CAR 625 App G and Lyc AD 2004-10-14.

Replacing the prop is the cheap part of taxiing over
a ramp light.

I'm new here but if he's doing something that endangers your aircraft(brakes can fail), call him on it. If I had someone do that repeatedly and continue to do so after I asked them not to, it should be enough for criminal charges. His buddies in enforcement can't protect him from section 77. TC can approve a lot of things, but breaking the criminal code isn't one of them.

What I did was went to the RCMP and filed a charge of harassment against the fucking pricks.


I won my case and that stopped the pricks from harassing me.


We have a new one out here on the west coast that does a lot of posting on the other forum that will fit into that gang of thugs just fine, I would love to have him try and ask me something at an airport, but of course he knows better.

My airplane had a prop strike 16 years ago, the total then was over $16000, and nothing was wrong other than that the prop needed to be replaced. 

The previous owners saved every invoice, it's interesting to go back and see what things used to cost.  The annual inspection in 1969 was $356.02 and the shop rate in Van Nuys, CA was $9 per hour.

Generally when you tear apart an engine, you can find
enough stuff out of spec that you can't just put it back
together with a new set of bearings and gaskets.

Case in point:  Mooney landed gear up.  Engine was
overhauled not even 2 years ago, maybe 100 hours
on the tach?  Should have been perfect, right?

When the engine shop took it apart for the inspection,
they found it was completely trashed.  Turned out it
had sat for months in Florida not flying, waiting for
maintenance to be performed there.  The salt and
humidity completely corroded out the inside of the
engine.  Needed new cam, new cylinders, etc.

Boy, that maintenance in Florida sure helped that
airplane, didn't it?

Funny, you mention Florida. It seems very popular destination for Toronto owners to park fo 4-5 months. I don't think they pickle them either. What would you do yo preserve it there vs in Ontario should the plane not be used.
