Speaking of ratting out people and rats in general Colonel we should invite CID over here to interact with us again.  :) :)

I see he is lonely over on Avcanada now that most of their experienced people have been booted or left.

I said fat not rat.

I was referring to the Colonel talking about people ratting to T.C. about maintenance.....CID....and his fight with the Colonel about how to fix fabric.

It was a few years ago.

Ah, nail polish... worse than house paint?

Needs a PMA label on the can.  You know, structural house paint.

The reason I said that is I was reading a home builder forum, where the guys building fabric covered planes in the us were discussing getting the right color mixed a Lowes.

I am not taking a side but I am pretty sure there are quite a few flying planes, painted with the same stuff you would typically paint your house or fence with.

PMA label? I suspect not.

This is the solution to any fabric problem:

If you use enough of it - and mix enough
of it with anything else you want to use -
life is good.

I am just guessing here but there is likely a difference between a tear in the actual fabric verses cracked paint.

Am I close thinking you were going to make the paint look better and prevent it from peeling. And someone was frightened you were going to rebuild your plane with a bottle of revlon.

I will go be sad since I went too serious on this one.

I doubt anyone on AvCan knows the difference.

PS  Sure to drive the AvCan Hall Monitors wild ...

Small tears in fabric can actually be temporarily
patched with this stuff:

I call it a "Central America Patch"  ;D  but I
probably don't know as much about flying fabric
as the Kings of Aviation on AvCan.

I've only been flying and maintaining fabric for
45 years now.  My father was flying fabric 65
years ago. My grandfather and his brother were
flying fabric 100 years ago, and a cousin of mine
was covering aircraft with fabric over 150 years ago.

Clearly I have no idea what I am doing.  None
whatsoever.  Better ask one of the Kings of
Aviation.
