I understand some schools have a five know crosswind limit.

And another school taught students to leave the gear down when doing circuits in a Beech Baron.

That has to be one of the most stupid things I have ever heard of.

I wonder if the student pilot grabbed the wrong handle?

Shouldn't the instructor (PNF) be doing the re-configuration?

It's happened before.  It will happen again.
Extremely high-risk, doing T+G's in an RG.

This is how you learn to fly a multi-engine airplane:

www.pittspecials.com/articles/cct_rg.htm
Touch down and roll the aircraft to the end of the runway, not using any brakes.
Turn around, taxi back, and don’t grab at knobs and levers when the aircraft is moving.
This is when people like to grab the gear lever instead of the flaps.  Don’t do that.
Taxi back to the runway threshold, complete your pre-takeoff check and brief, and take off again.
But remember, I'm really fucking stupid compared
to the bright shining lights of Canadian Aviation.

25 years instructing, 40+ years of aviation with a
perfect safety record.  If that's not good enough
for you, go fuck yourself.

First, if you had that bit of information, why didn't you share it in the first place? Second, a damaged gear leg is a far cry from a "crash" unless you consider that time you damaged the gear door on your Apache by hitting a duck that one time also a "crash".

Did Strega's parents buy him that plane for hour building?

Shiny,

How many aircraft, have you damaged when at the controls, or been responsible "as the pic" of when damaged?

oh and FYI a birdstrike is a birdstrike, not a crash, not sure if you if you realize that or not.. (as earlier in this thread you compared a birdstrike to tearing the gear off, and writing of a seneca)

I was just curious how you managed to buy those planes before you got your first flying job.

Vtoss,

Its called work..

There are people that are lazy, and would rather sit around and wait for something to happen, and there are those that are proactive, and seek out opportunity...  Leaders, and followers.. what one are you?

Are you like shiny and think they know more about me than me?
