I understand some schools have a five know crosswind limit.


And another school taught students to leave the gear down when doing circuits in a Beech Baron.


That has to be one of the most stupid things I have ever heard of.

I wonder if the student pilot grabbed the wrong handle?


Shouldn't the instructor (PNF) be doing the re-configuration?

From the guy I spoke with (that apparently saw it) he said it was just a landing that went sideways....

oh and FYI a birdstrike is a birdstrike, not a crash, not sure if you if you realize that or not.. (as earlier in this thread you compared a birdstrike to tearing the gear off, and writing of a seneca)
