He did mention Pitts a few times during the talk. Introduced a 1 legged student of his, to prove it was not THAT difficult. Was suitably rude about Cessnas and Airline pilots
Going to try to catch his aerobatic fir beginners seminar tomorrow.
Today, Battle of Britain 75 th air display, not seen any Spits yet though, but the Mossie is flying.
Hopefully they won't inform us how the USA won that battle.....
Its Oshkosh ....Bitch

Many of us that value stick & rudder skillsWas suitably rude about Cessnas and Airline pilots
have independently come to the same
conclusions!
Really? A few years ago I was there, lookednot seen any Spits yet though
up, saw 6 Spitfires flying overhead in right
echelon. I didn't know there were even 6
Spitfires flying in the USA. They like their
P-51's, and these days even the ugly duckling
P-40 has shot up to stratospheric prices.
I'm not a big fan of the liquid-cooled V-12
warbirds. Personally I would far rather
see (and hear) a P-47 or Corsair. Real
men's airplanes. You can take down a
liquid-cooled engine with a BB rifle. I
was flying a liquid-cooled engine last
night. Scares the shit out of me.

The B of B presentation had 1 spit, our Lancaster and the Mosquito. Lots of nice Merlin noise, but not that historically accurate. Was then treated to 14 P-51s running up in front of me.
I grew up in the UK, so was spoiled for years by Spitfires and Hurricanes at every air show.
Took the wife to a 'why aerobatic training is the best next step after primary training' seminar, she's getting convinced. steak dinner tonight.

Well I am back home from Osh and had a good but busy time also
Arrived last Friday and set up Camp
Tried to sleep but directly across from Camp Scholler on hwy 41 was a music fest so
I was lullabied to sleep by Judas Priest.
Got up the next morning and went to Brodhead Wis for the Hatz / Pietenpol Fly In
Lots of antique and vintage aircraft
Got home and went to Parnells for the Sat night Prime Rib special. A 1.5 inche thick huge slab of Wis beef . Washed down of course by BEER
Went to bed that night this time to the sounds of Def Leopard sounded like the bass player was in my tent with me
6:00 am that morning the typical Osh storm blew thru . 65 MPH winds , rain and lightening Many tents went down , only mine and one other survived at our Ten tent camp
All this and Osh had not even opened yet
By Monday all was well and the show started . My impression was that there were less vendors in the super hangers this year and there were more none aviation item sellers .
Lots of great ground displays and many very awesome aircraft yo see
My buddy came yo Osh for the first time with his newly restored Fleet Cornell
He is a 200 hr pilot that just spent 11 yrs restoring the aircraft and along with another pilot flew it to Osh for their first time there.
The Warbird judges went nuts as the restoration quality and accuracy is unbelievable
An air to air photo Op was requested which is usually a sign that an award will be given to the aircraft.
Tues night went over to say hello to this years crop of Bikini Girls at SOS Brothers Beerventure Tent . They were working their tails off > I know as kept checking those lovely tails out ;D
Wed night I did the Alaskan Cub Pig roast in New Holstein Wis and watched a Super Cub land and stop in 26 ft (not a typo) :o
These guys typically land and takeoff inside 65 ft very impressive
So with that I did 3 Airshows all withinn 6 day
I ended the week by shattering my drive time from 11:00 hrs and getting home in 10 hrs 15 mins 8)
Had a ball , thats notch #22 on my belt
