Not sure... The guy that told me this has a last name that is a kin to a proud bird - it is a reputable source. I'll see if I can find more info.

FYI the story (from the guy I spoke with) had nothing to do with gear "retracting" but had to do with aircraft mishandling...
Maybe "instructors" should focus on teaching students to land straight, and without drift....
But as the colonel likes to say,,, what do I know as Im a bad person. ;)

Unless there is too much cross wind. A lot of FTUs don't let the planes fly then.
