A tailwheel jet has got character!
PS I’ve flown with some U-2 pilots. Ok sticks but nothing special. Not in the league of Rob Holland or Skip Stewart.

Those conversions are ok. Plus the ME jet is not a conversion.

True, but nor are the X-Cub, Spartan 12W, or Waco N I’d previously posted. Really, that cabin Waco came from the factory that way!
I won’t admit to outright cheating but I do stack the deck in my favour when practical.

Technically speaking the U-2 is not a tail dragger but rather a tandem geared airplane, one of the few besides the B-52 with its wheels directly in front of one another. Besides the challenge of its configuration, the main problem I read about landing he U-2 was being somewhat frozen, hypoxic and cramped up from the length of time of its missions.

Peak madness:
Believe it or not that isn’t a King Air.
It’s just so weird.
…or maybe you prefer oil puddles:

At this point, only an accomplished sadist would post pictures of nosewheel DC-3 conversion…

Fair but you quoted my “a conventional gear conversion” above the picture.
I dislike yokes much more than where the third wheel is.
I know I’m all messed up but I don’t want a steering wheel like thing to control the airplane I’m flying. It’s unnatural and might confuse my subconscious mind.
