There was always a discussion to the best xwind technique. For me crabbing and kicking straight did it, others liked the side slip but my question was "how do you fly an ILS or any approach for that matter. Also side slip will make "demonstrated" xwind very close to a hard number. This is true for all aircraft. So no technique is the "right" way. Pick one and get good at it.
