I thought Charles told his doctor to mind his own business, went to Maui and died much later than predicted from a nasty illness.

All of us will die in an aircraft, sooner or later.

I would be afraid  that thought may become a self fulfilling prophecy.

To pretend otherwise is either denial or arrogance.

For many years, I have opined that my demographic
has a 5% yearly fatality rate.  I don't see any reason
to alter that estimate.

Ask Mike Mangold, Freddy Cabanas, Bill Gordon,
Andrew Wright, Marcus Paine, Bruce Evans, Greg
Connell, Eddie Andreini, Charlie Schwenker.

Hey, we're all going to die, sooner or later.  It's
just a matter of how and when, and what you do
between now and then.

*** NEWS FLASH ***

Hey, if loud pipes save lives, I'm gonna live forever.

Installed a Toce (pronounced "tushy") exhaust on
the sport bike this morning.

It is ridiculously loud around town.  Makes Eric's
Yoshimura on his 1000 sound quiet, if that's
possible.

Exploded with around a million decibels onto
the on-ramp to I-280.  At 7000 RPM / 80 MPH
(normal cruising speed, 6th gear) it was so
loud, cars were moving away from me.  The
bike is propelled forwards by blasting an
enormous amount of sound backwards.  This
explains the structural mounting of the
"muffler" which you can see right through.
Hell, that's no muffler, it's an amplifier!

My ears are still ringing.

It's going to be an interesting week.

Wasn't Mangold's accident a non-aerobatic crash due to an engine failure on takeoff. I have never heard any follow-up. Does anyone know?

Impressive, practicing punching and falls while commuting.
