This aircraft actually has the automated audio system to remind the pilot about the float landing gear.
However, I am hearing that the pilot ignored or did not hear it
One word: Checklist .
You can have all the fancy systems you like but a an actual checklist never fails if you actually pick it up and use it. They are not affected by system or electrical failures

Amazing how you can just tune such an annoying noise out
(must have been people with small children ;) )

The problem with the E190 series, is the same tone is used for multiple things, like altitude alert, and VNAV path intercept, you learn to tune it out.


The Airbus only has a few tones, which are noticeably different.


The UH60 Hawk only has three: low rotor, engine out, and stab manual mode.  Discernibly different.
