Every once in a while someone makes a post that just has to be shared....this one was by Photofly at Avcanada.

[quote]Oh my goodness.

The three degree approach was invented for the jet transport aircraft. It's entirely inappropriate for a piston single.

Anyone who thinks a c150 should fly a 3 degree glide slope, and therefore be at 650' agl on a two mile final, is out of their tiny mind. Anyone who thinks a c150 should be doing 100kts ground speed on approach is even dumber.

Anyone who teaches a pilot to fly a three degree approach in a c150 "so they can learn what it looks like" needs to be lowered by their testicles into a vat of fuming nitric acid.

Fly the fucking plane you're in, not the one you're dreaming of.

Guess who did his (class 4) instructor rating?  ;D

He rapidly progressed and is now a class 1.

And is a cool guy.  Flew his 182 (past TBO)
across the North Atlantic.

He is not what I would call a typical "FTU instructor"

Here is another old friend of mine:

Probably got sick of listening to me  ^-^

PS  Hey Chuck, how far are you from
SFO?  More specifically, KLVK?  You
ever pass through there?

We go down I-5 to Hemet every winter, in fact we will be heading down there sometime mid Nov.

I sometimes stop in Williams to do some soaring.

Why do you ask?

And you should get photofly over here to help advise some of our group who ask for advice.

Next time you're heading south on I-5
hang a right at Manteca on 205/580 and
stop and say "hi" to me and Eric.

The plan is to head south sometime mid Nov.

Do you have a place to park a 42 foot long motor home?

Not sure the neighbors would be impressed.

How about a local Walmart parking lot?
