…meanwhile winter time is workshop time. I’m between shops of my own but my dad’s shop has been unused for years so I’ve taken it over for now.

Woodwork is lovely pleasant work to do. I don’t know why anyone would build a metal airplane.

Agreed. My personal preference is a 4130 tube fuselage and wood wings, but I’m weird. I ride a motorcycle that appeared in 1999 and my favorite pistol went into service in 1911.

Things of quality have no fear of time.

That seems like the most correct answer for a recreational plane. I really need to learn to oxy weld thin wall tubing and hit the ground running. It would be great to stick together a copy of Pitts’ first biplane… or a Mystery Ship.
