Finally on my way to Cape Town to do these flights again.
Some great videos
They were supposed to retire this A340 in October!

Do you guys operate under the Moonraker callsign? I feel like I’ve seen an all white 340 cruising around with that handle and it’s badass.

It was solstice yesterday. Did you need to wait for the Wx? You’re going to be running out of daylight.
I suppose it will take a few months but I thought you’d have gone before now.

@Slick Goodlin
Yes - "Moonraker" is the call sign for Hifly Malta.
@David MacRay
Things are reversed in the Southern Hemisphere. Dec 21 is the longest day of the year and it's Summer in Cape Town.
24 H daylight S of 66'30"S.
They plan the flights to arrive at the coldest time of the day.

Yes, I know.
What I am saying is that it would have been twenty four hours of sunlight for a while. After the longest day of the year, each day will get shorter until the next solstice in June. At some point the sun will set for several months.

I figured that even though the sunlight was good for at least a few months, Wx might not have been as good.

Flights operate during the period with the best weather - November to mid February.
Just got back from a flight - we departed a bit earlier due to the deteriorating forecast. Weather went below landing limits about 2 hours after we left.
Passengers normally around 50 each way.
