The US economy and foreign policy was superb 2016-2020 and sucked 2020-2024. I’ll let you figure out why.

PS 2020-2024 are going to be great here. Please stop voting for Trudeau. It’s going to take you decades to dig out of that hole, just like when Trudeau senior bankrupted the country. You don’t need to make it any deeper.

There’s always a whole lot of voter remorse when the Left takes power and inevitably makes everyone poorer, because that’s what they do. Every. Single. Time.

You’d be hard pressed to find a single enthusiastic Liberal voter in Canada today, but every election millions of Good Canadians vote for Trudeau to make them poorer and take away their freedoms and fill cities with criminals, because that’s the cost of virtue-signaling “good government”.

Your CBC and mangerial/bureaucratic class hated Harper, but how was Canada when he was PM? I know I’m biased, he’s my cousin, but name a better PM in the last 100 years. Not easy.

I didnt realize that you had been hit so badly financially the last 4 years.

I hate to tell you this but, that has not been my experience. Im not worried about crime, I havent felt my "freedoms stripped away" and Im definitely not poorer. I mean, the only person I recall bitching about losing money was the CEO of the company my wife was working for bitching that his renumeration was only 22 million that year. If that's the only guy who didnt get enough money, Im fine with that.

So its not the hellscape that maybe whatever media you have been consuming paints.

To be honest? Not a lot different than it was before, and not a lot different after for the average working joe. Alberta's fortunes, for example have been tied to the price of oil, to which the PM has no control over. Personally I liked him better than most, but I didnt have a special love for him. He stupidly lost his last election with some ridiculous negative ads and silly focus on burquas.

The real problem in this discussion is your focus on "the left" which hasnt really ever held power in any meaningful sense. All the places you view as "left wing hellscapes" are really right wing totalitarian regimes. One of the hallmarks of right wing politics of course being the reverence of a strong man leader figure, and the government's subservience to his whims. Venezuela for instance Chavez initially rose to power on left leaning populist politics, but when the price of oil wouldnt sustain it, reverted to a right wing cult of personality to preserve his power, and then of course perpetuate that with his next in line Maduro, who cemented the cult of personality.

Your slavish adoration of leaders is a hallmark of the right wing. Recall that the terms right and left, stem from french politics where the right side of the parliament were the ministers who supported the king and the concept of his divine right to rule. While right leaning politicians frequently say they want "smaller" governments, what they really want is governments incapable of keeping their leader figures in check, and for those governmental agencies to strictly serve the party agenda.

While right wingers will often tell me that they're freedom loving libertarians. They too often have strange ideas about the government supervising what you do in your family life and enforcing their own religious beliefs.

Canadian politics as it were have three parties and the main alarming thing is a shift to the right by the conservatives. I cant deal with the crazy religious crap they are starting to flirt with. The NDP isnt going to ever get enough votes, and only are going to jockey for a few seats. The Alberta NDP still fought for pipelines and digging oil out of the ground. The "left" you panick over just isnt as scary as you would like us to believe, mainly because they really are only a hair left of centre.

I mean south of the border the only "left" politician I ever see is Bernie, and he really isnt that left, and exerts no power anyways. Contrast that to the states that are firmly locked under red control where they exercise some real political power. I mean who would have thought that in freedom loving Texas they managed to effectively ban porn. So much for "freedom".

Hamas is rioting in Montreal and your guy is dancing like a teenaged girl with Taylor Swift.

Enjoy the destruction of Canada.

And you’re allowed to hate America and Americans. Stay home.
