Not sure the FAA is going to buy his attempt to throw the line guy under the bus.
How someone with all that technology - did you see the picture of the cockpit? - manages to run out of gas with a fuel totalizer and a GPS, remains a mystery.
I’ve known guys like this. They’ve landed on fumes before. I’d love to see his past fuel receipts where he put 29 gallons into an airplane with 30 gallon capacity.
John Denver similarly left MRY after giving up waiting for fuel.
