Meanwhile….

American is matching Delta
a captain flying narrow-body planes would make $475,000 at the top of the scale, up $135,000 from current pay, while the most senior captains of wide-body planes would make $590,000 per year, a $170,000 increase

Hehe, true, but then again, the chances of an engine failure in a twin are twice as big. So let's compromise at 250 hour glider PIC :-D

The devil is in the details…

I don’t hear or see a Tentative Agreement between the Allied Pilots assoc and AA.

On the surface making $500/hr seems ludicrously awesome…however what scheduling flexibility do you have?

There’s more to it that simple dollars per hour.

US$590,000 is Cdn $820,000. Are Air Canada pilots pulling down that kind of coin? I have no idea.

I’m not sure I’m making 1/10 of that.

I hope you’re joking…

No, for decades AC four bars told me what a moron I was compared to them. Ok, I accept that. But they should be pulling down big coin if they’re so smart, right?

PS thinking about it, the after tax difference is even bigger. Even living in the bluest state, I pay far less income tax than I did in Ontario. If one chose to live in WA or FL or TX etc …. no state income tax. Even bigger difference.

You might need $1.3M to get the same after tax dollars? Given the incredible ticket prices they charge and the stratospheric IQ’s of their pilots, I don’t see why this is a problem for AC.

People here sneer at FL. Flat and swampy and salty, it’s kind of an acquired taste. Humid and hotter than hell in the summer, Cb’s every afternoon. It’s not for everyone.

It’s really odd how people are leaving blue states faster than Madonna spreading her legs, to red states.

NY, MA, CA->>> TX, FL, TN etc…

I’d move back to California is DeSantis had a sibling that ran the state.
